The Jewel Vinsota website encompasses all aspects of our lives here in central Maryland. We are David Gibney (DeGibnio) and Sarah Polzin-Gibney. Jewel Vinsota is the name of our home, designed and built by David, and a work of art itself. It also represents the entirety of our lives, creating art and architecture, preserving historic structures, living and working next to nature.
David is a preservation craftsman by trade and an artist by passion. Sarah’s background is in historic preservation and she is developing her creative side as she works with David.
For David, preservation of our nation’s heritage takes two forms: the literal preservation of historic structures and the artistic reuse and interpretation of the corroded materials left behind by our society.
David wants to share what he’s learned and created with others. He has taught workshops and college courses. You can work side by side with him in his workshop or studio. Learn practical skills like wood window repair or brick repointing. Or expand your creative horizons by turning junkyard treasures into your own personal statements.
